This course provides a practical introduction to hotel cashiering and night audit operations within the hospitality industry. Designed for front office staff, night auditors, supervisors, and hospitality students, the course focuses on financial accuracy, operational control, guest billing processes, and daily revenue reconciliation.
The course begins with the fundamentals of hotel cashiering. Learners will understand the role of a hotel cashier, apply professional guest service standards, explore room rates and billing structures, and become familiar with cashiering systems, payment methods, and point-of-sale interfaces.
The second module focuses on front office financial transactions. Learners will process guest payments and deposits, post charges accurately, manage rebates and refunds, handle direct billing and credit authorization procedures, and complete cashier balancing and reporting tasks effectively.
The course then explores the fundamentals of night audit operations. Learners will understand the purpose and responsibilities of night audit, prepare audit materials, verify transactions, reconcile daily revenue, perform end-of-day system closures, and troubleshoot common discrepancies and operational issues.
A dedicated module focuses on hotel financial reporting and analysis. Learners will interpret daily revenue reports, understand key room statistics such as occupancy percentage, ADR, and RevPAR, analyze departmental revenue performance, and apply fraud prevention and compliance practices.
The final module addresses advanced applications and real-world scenarios.
