A contemplative path out of chronic anxiety, drawing on mindfulness, Taoism, and Stoicism.

What you'll learn
Understand what anxiety actually is, why it feeds itself, and why willpower keeps failing you
Use the extended exhale to reach your nervous system's brake in any moment, without anyone noticing
Apply the body scan and the naming practice to interrupt a racing mind
Sort what's genuinely in your control from what never was, using the Stoic dichotomy of control
Build a daily rhythm of morning, midday, and evening practice small enough to actually keep
Meet the hardest moments with real tools: 3am wakefulness, conflict, social anxiety, and setbacks
Requirements
No prior experience with meditation or contemplative practice. Just a willingness to try the practices, not only watch them.
Description
You've probably already tried to think your way out of this. You've told yourself to calm down. You've reasoned with the fear at two in the morning. And every time willpower failed, some part of you filed it away as more evidence that something is wrong with you.
Nothing is wrong with you. You're carrying a nervous system that learned to protect you a little too well.
This course teaches you how to meet that system instead of fighting it. Over about four hours, we work through what anxiety actually is, why force makes it worse, and three contemplative traditions that have been solving this problem for two thousand years. Mindfulness, to meet the moment you're actually in. Taoism, to stop forcing and let the water settle. Stoicism, to sort what's yours to hold from what was never yours at all.
Then we get practical. You'll learn the extended exhale and where it lives in your nervous system. The body scan for a racing mind. Naming what's here, so you become the observer instead of the one lost in it. A two-minute reset you can run in a meeting with your eyes open. We build those into a daily rhythm small enough that you'll actually keep it, then take everything into the hardest real moments: the 3am spinning mind, conflict with people you love, the fear of being seen, and the days you slip.
I'm not a researcher who studied this from the outside. I lived with chronic anxiety for most of my adult life, and I found my way out through these practices, slowly and imperfectly. I still have hard days. What I can tell you is that a steadier life is possible.
This isn't therapy, and it won't promise you'll never feel anxious again. The goal is to stop letting fear decide what you're willing to do. You don't need any experience with meditation. You just need a willingness to try something other than fighting.
Who this course is for
Anyone living with chronic, low-grade anxiety who is tired of being told to just relax, and who wants practical tools drawn from mindfulness, Taoism, and Stoicism.
