InnovMetric PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2026 IR2 Win64 (x64) | Size: 2.74 GB
Language: English

InnovMetric, the independent software development company that empowers manufacturers of every size to digitally transform their 3D measurement processes, announces the launch of PolyWorks 2026.

This major release delivers three key pillars of innovation:
- A data management solution in a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) model
- Improved software compatibility to support a broader range of measurement devices
- An AI assistant designed to provide technical support 24/7
PolyWorks 2026 empowers metrology engineers and quality control managers to implement standardized dimensional inspection processes, facilitating multi-site collaboration among metrology teams, as well as with external suppliers.
A digital thread infrastructure
PolyWorks 2026 introduces two major enhancements that leverage a digital thread framework to create the ultimate inspection lab:
- DataLoop Cloud, a SaaS solution designed to ensure secure data centralization for manufacturers seeking to outsource their data management server setup and maintenance, thereby simplifying deployment and reducing ongoing upkeep.
- Seamless sharing of PolyWorks|Inspector licenses as well as piece measurement templates with tailored interfaces, streamlining multi-site inspection by driving standardization and boosting efficiency.
Metrology platform extensions
The universal metrology platform delivers four key extensions, enabling metrologists to work smoothly and with greater flexibility:
- A Computed Tomography (CT) scanning module that automates CT-based multipiece inspection in production environments.
- A web-based data app that allows collecting and consolidating data from handheld gauges and visual checks, directly on the shop floor.
- Real-time integration of portable multi-line scanners within PolyWorks|Inspector, enabling direct processing of scan data and eliminating manual transfers as well as the need to switch between software platforms.
- Advanced 5-axis probe head support that includes native go-to-positioning, head-touch measurement, and built-in collision analysis functionalities.
An AI assistant for an enhanced customer experience
InnovMetric is proud to launch MyPolyWorks AI, a smart assistant fully integrated into the MyPolyWorks customer portal. Available 24/7, it provides instant, reliable technical answers in the customer's preferred language and includes hyperlinks for deeper insights.

General
- The French, German, and Spanish user interfaces have been updated.
- The following issue has been fixed:
- Issues that affected the display of the 3D scene when handling extremely large coordinates. Under
certain conditions, these issues caused a software crash.

PolyWorks|Inspector
- Improvements have been made to the prealignment algorithm of the Best-Fit Data to Reference Objects operation, delivering better results on complex and symmetrical parts. Moreover, scanned data that only covers a portion of the Reference object is now automatically prealigned to the appropriate region, eliminating the need to manually pick point pairs prior to the best-fit alignment.
- When using the CNC CMM plug-in, it is now possible to convert PC-DMIS projects into PolyWorks|Inspector projects using an XML file. The following procedure must be followed.
In PC-DMIS:
1. Open the PC DMIS program offline:
- Choose File > Open.
- Select the program file (*.PRG).
- Select Offline in the appropriate list to open the program offline.
2. Reset the program:
- Choose Operation > Features > Reset Measured Values to Nominals > All.
- Choose Edit > Select All, then choose File > Execute.
- Choose View > Path Lines.
- Press the F5 key to refresh the project. On the Dimension tab, select Minus tols show negative and make sure that the Display angle degrees parameter is set to Decimal degrees.
3. Export the XML file:
- Choose File > Export > XML.
If the import is performed on an offline computer (i.e., not connected to the CNC CMM), ensure that the CMM configuration from the online computer is copied to it beforehand.
In PolyWorks|Inspector:
1. Choose Home > Import > Import > From PC-DMIS XML Files.
2. In the file browser displayed, click Options
The Objects > Import page of the PolyWorks|Inspector Options dialog box is displayed.
3. Click Options in the PC-DMIS XML file section.

The available options are divided into three sections:
- CNC CMM: Specify whether the probe retracts to the approach position or to a distance defined in
the PC-DMIS XML file after measurement.
- Project: Specify the project type to be converted, the initial alignment to create, the measurement point source, and how to handle import issues.
- Hemmed edge comparison points: Specify whether trimmed edge comparison points from PC-DMIS are converted to hemmed edge comparison points in PolyWorks|Inspector based on a naming convention.
4. Click Apply in the PC-DMIS XML File Options dialog box.
5. Select the file in the file browser, then click Open.
After the import, review the generated sequence while paying attention to comments beginning with "Action required!" (manual action required) and "Attention!" (modification or unsupported object), then run the sequence at a reduced speed to avoid any potential collisions.
Note that the following data is supported:
- Circle, cylinder, line, plane, point, slot, and sphere features
- Comparison points
- Measured points
- Distances and angles
- CNC parameters and length units
- Probes and probe orientations
- Star styli
- Commands for rotary table management
- Commands for dual-arm CMM management
- Instructions and comments in the measurement sequence
Improvements have been made to slab pattern detection when importing Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) into PolyWorks|Inspector.
The following issues have been fixed:
- An issue with refreshing the 3D scene during a CMM movement using the jogbox.
- An issue with the Drag Points and Drag Scan Path Points interactive modes.
- An issue when starting the Measurement Path Analysis interactive mode with no measurement sequence.
- An issue that prevented the display of a very large number of data points.
- An issue with the display of controls in the Control Reviewer during Play Inspection.
- A software crash that occurred during the Surface Data SPC initialization.
- A software crash that occurred when applying filters to the color map annotations in a report table.
- An issue that prevented editing color scales.
- An issue with the Object Navigator when attempting to display the nominal or measured components of cross-sections and gauges.
- An issue with the filter in non-English versions of the PMI import log.
- Issues with the project units displayed in the interface for the following parameters:
. The Outside of standard deviation factor option in the Filtering section of the feature's property sheet.
. The tip radius in a caliper's property sheet.
. The tolerances of custom measurements in the Geometry Controls pane.
. The tolerances that were applied using the Assign Tolerances button in the Edit Controls dialog box.
. The nominal value of GD&T controls in the Geometry Controls pane.
. The measured value applied to custom controls in the Geometry Controls pane when the Gauge Measured operation is used.
. The quantitative values in the Tolerance Templates page of the PolyWorks|Inspector Options dialog box.
An issue with the project units in the Tools and Tool Orientations pane.
For the CT scanning module:

- An issue caused incorrect values to be displayed in region parameters of the CT dialog box.
- No message was displayed to notify users that Offline Simulation mode is not supported.
- No message was displayed to notify the user that an active license is required to launch the module.

PolyWorks|Modeler
- NX 2512 is now supported for the PolyWorks Solid Features add-in. Additionally, certain versions of the PolyWorks|Solid Features add-ins are no longer supported as of PolyWorks 2026 IR2. Supported versions are now as follows:
